Although Airplane!’s charm was always its wicked humour as opposed to cinematic beauty, it’s still good to see it presented in its original widescreen format. There is a theatrical trailer on the package, but the highlight here is the group commentary by directors James Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker. It’s a treat to hear the men detail how the film came to fruition and just hearing them sit back and laugh at the hilarity of their own work.
